Different USB cable
Sometimes a cable can be used for charging but won't like to transfer data. Try another USB-C cable with your computer to see if the issue is the cable.
Different USB port on your computer
As computers age the USB ports can become unreliable. Try plugging your cable into a different port. If you have USB hub that works, you can try plugging into the hub.
Use Google Chrome or MS Edge
USB upload is a feature supported by Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers. Safari, Firefox, Opera, etc do not support USB uploading yet.
