# My Protern.io Sensor won't connect via USB

## Try different cables, different USB ports on the computer and make sure you are using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge as your browser.

There are a few simple things you can try to get your Protern.io Sensor to connect to your computer.

3. [Make sure you are using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge](https://support.protern.io/my-protern.io-sensor-wont-connect-via-usb#Browser)

### Different USB cable

Sometimes a cable can be used for charging but won't like to transfer data. Try another USB-C cable with your computer to see if the issue is the cable.

### Different USB port on your computer

As computers age the USB ports can become unreliable. Try plugging your cable into a different port. If you have USB hub that works, you can try plugging into the hub.

### Use Google Chrome or MS Edge

USB upload is a feature supported by Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers. Safari, Firefox, Opera, etc do not support USB uploading yet.
