[Protern.io Accounts](https://support.protern.io/protern-io-accounts?hsLang=en) # How do I create a new athlete account? ## To create a new Protern athlete account, go to Settings -\> Protern Passes and click the Add/Assign Passes button. **Note:** You will need your [coach account to be active](https://support.protern.io/how-do-i-renew-my-account?hsLang=en) in order to add new athlete accounts.  In this article we will go over how to add new athlete account(s). 1. Fill in the first and last name for the athlete. The email is optional. By providing an email, the athlete will get access to the data in their account. Select the desired *Pass Type*.
