[Protern Video - Data-Enhanced Video](https://support.protern.io/video-and-protern-io-data?hsLang=en#protern-video-data-enhanced-video) # Using Protern Video for iOS and Android to film athletes and assign data ## Protern users with a valid Protern account (i.e. Protern Pass) can use the Protern Video for iOS and Android to film their athletes and add data right on the hill. **Note:** If you do not have Protern account, click here to read [how you can still film athletes with an accurate timecode for precise data syncing](https://support.protern.io/how-to-film-athletes-and-assign-data-non-logged-in-users?hsLang=en).  Here are the steps to film your athlete and assign the data for analysis. 1. Tap on the camera icon in the gallery view ![](https://support.protern.io/hs-fs/hubfs/Gallery%20Screen%20phone-jpg-1.jpeg?width=229&height=509&name=Gallery%20Screen%20phone-jpg-1.jpeg) 2. You can record in either portrait or landscape mode 3. Press the red circle to begin and stop recording 4. Zoom by using the dial located near the record button 5. When you are done filming, tap Save to keep your video or Delete to remove it 6. Assign an athlete to the video 1. If your athlete doesn't appear (i.e. you don't have access to the athlete's data) or you don't need to film another video immediately, tap Skip 7. If you have *Auto Download Data* turned on in your settings, then Protern Video will automatically check the server for data and download it to the video when it is available.  **Tip:** Don't have time to select the athlete after filming? Protern Video can automatically detect which athlete is in the video if their data has been uploaded and their runs are in a quantriq. Assign the data to the video 1. Quantriq - Protern Video will display all quantriqs for the selected athlete that are valid when the video was recorded. Comparison Type provides three options for comparing the run's time and speed. Overall Fastest compares to the overall fastest. Athlete's Fastest compares to the athlete's fastest run. If you don't want to select data yet, you can press Skip 2.
